Peace on Earth Begins with Birth

I am a mother of two nature-loving, wild boys ages 12 and 15; partner to a wonderful man (and chef!);  and lover of the earth and sea.  I was a yoga teacher for 12 years before becoming a midwife and my family and I still love to incorporate that deep peace of movement and meditation in our daily lives. I love to sing, dance, garden, hike, snorkel, read and enjoy life and nature! But I’m most passionate about being a guardian of the sacred gate that we call birth; bearing witness to the awakening of a woman’s power; helping inform, heal and protect the 4 Baskets- the time frame from conception to a few hours after birth.

I began attending births as a doula in 2006. In 2013, I began my journey to midwifery and was blessed with an apprenticeship with Sarah Wallbaum, CPM in Kansas City, Missouri. During 2015, my family and I moved to Hawaii where I worked with several midwives as well as expanded my knowledge of herbal and energy healing. I returned to the mainland in 2016 in order to complete my apprenticeship and continue instinctual birth studies with Sister MorningStar. In September 2016, I received the certification of CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) through NARM (North American Registry of Midwives.) I attend conferences and workshops yearly to maintain adequate continuing education credits and continue to expand my knowledge of holistic healing, nutrition and care of women and babies. I am a member of MANA (Midwives Alliance of North America) and Midwives Alliance of Hawaii.

Although I am a certified midwife, I have also been trained in the ancient art of traditional midwifery and consider myself a new earth community midwife. My skills include use of herbs, massage, song and yoga. I provide a full service of prenatal visits, intrapartum and postpartum care in the home to healthy, low risk pregnant women and their babies regardless of religion, race, alternative lifestyles, ethnic origin or financial situation. I live in Puna on the Big Island of Hawaii and serve homebirth families living in East Hawaii. I would love to talk to you and see if we are a good match for each other. Please feel free to contact me and leave your email or phone number and I will respond as soon as possible.
